Poultry Event at ISU

April 21, 2016

Tuesday, April 19, 2016 marked the second annual FFA Poultry Career Development Event hosted by Iowa State University.  ISU Block and Bridle Club Poultry Interest Group helped to plan the event.  Assistant Farm Manager Cameron Hall says – “I’m ecstatic at how well the Poultry Interest Group did at setting up the event and making it successful.  This is one of the smallest interest groups within Block and Bridle but you wouldn’t know it because they arranged an event that brought in almost 300 kids.  It’s such an opportunity for these students to learn and grow.  It Read more about Poultry Event at ISU

Poultry Supervisor Receives Award

April 13, 2016

Bill Larson, long-time supervisor of the Iowa State University Poultry Farm, was named the 2016 recipient of the Poultry Science Association Tyson Foods Inc. Support Personnel Award. This award is “given annually to a farm worker, laboratory technician, or extension assistant, in recognition of outstanding support of poultry science research, extension, or teaching programs.”  Bill will be presented his award in the Awards Ceremony at the annual meeting of the Poultry Science Association in New Orleans in July.  Read more about Poultry Supervisor Receives Award

Poultry Science Farm

Poultry FarmThe ISU Poultry Science Farm was built in 1963 and is located at 3840 520th Avenue, approximately 3 miles southwest of the main campus, and covers 11 acres. It is located on the teaching farm complex that also includes the beef, sheep, and swine teaching units. The unit is utilized for teaching and research activities with broilers, layers, turkeys, and other avian species. Read more about Poultry Science Farm
