The team also designed a T-shirt that was awarded the Champion T-shirt Design and Highest Bidder in the contest. This is the third year in a row that Iowa State University has been the university t-shirt competition champions.  Quiz Bowl team coach and graduate student, Amanda Outhouse,  said "We raised $6,000 at the T-shirt contest which is pretty incredible considering the entire contest brought $8,000.  We raised over 2/3rd of the funds with our t-shirt!  We received a lot of support from alumni that were present at the conference.  Because ISU has such a great  meats program, many of the people attending the conference had a tie with ISU in some way and showed us really great support! "   The T-Shirt Auction raises money for the American Meat Science Association student board to support scholarships for undergraduate students in meat science and for a mentorship fund.
